Idea #1

Inclusion in the Outdoors

Problem: A large group of young girls are joining Scouting (formally Boy Scouts) for the first time without the established structure and support of their male counterparts.

Purpose: To create a product that is focused around the young girls specific needs when they begin to venture into the outdoors.

Idea #2

Different Body Types in Water Sports

Problem: The outdoors are constantly becoming more diverse but there is little to any PFD (Personal Floatation Device) that are designed specifically for woman’s varying body types, especially at higher performance levels.

Purpose: Create a PFD focused specifically around comfort and functionality for female users, particular at higher performance levels. (i.e. whitewater rafting etc.)

Idea #3

Making Safety More Popular for Motorcyclists

Problem: Motorcycles have inherent risks and Motorcyclist aren’t wearing vital safety gear because they don’t want to carry with it when they reach their destination.

Purpose: Create a secure tamper proof system that attaches to the motorcycle that holds and protects their safety gear to make riders more likely to wear their gear.

Idea #4

“All One Ocean,” Educating our Communities, Protecting our Ocean, A Project of Earth Island Institute
Background: All One Ocean’s mission is to educate our communities about the destructive impact of litter on our Ocean and waterways and provide simple, sustainable and effective ways to reduce litter.
Problem: [Sustainable Built-environment Structure] Need to create a durable, sustainable, & maintainable Beach Clean-Up Station

  1. Nice ideas! I was drawn to the one that emphasized motor cycle safety. Making a product that has all of the gear easily attached to the motor cycle would increase the riders safety. I also liked the Ocean education one also, litter is a community issue and education can help that.
